New Delhi, March 19 -- Delhi's power distribution companies on Tuesday said they expect the peak power demand in the Capital to touch 9,000MW this summer and they were prepared to meet the rise in demand.

Last year, the peak power demand touched an all-time high of 8,656MW on June 19.

BSES supplies power in central, south, west and east Delhi, while Tata DDL supplies to north and northwest Delhi.

"BSES discoms are geared-up to ensure reliable power supply... Arrangements include long term PPAs and banking arrangements with other states," a BSES spokesperson said.

"Tata Power-DDL is fully geared to provide uninterrupted power supply by using advanced techniques," said a TPDDL spokesperson.htc
