Chandigarh, March 27 -- The Punjab government has removed 1995-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer G Nageswara Rao from the post of chief director of the Vigilance Bureau (VB) and replaced him with SPS Parmar.

Rao, who had assumed the role just last month, was removed due to concerns over his performance, particularly his failure to clear files and the absence of major cases registered during his tenure, people familiar with the matter said.
