India, Oct. 4 -- After more than 30 years in Bollywood, actor Rani Mukerji finally won her first National Award for Best Actress this year. Her mother, Krishna Mukherjee is proud of her daughter's achievement but feels the honour came a little late. She feels Rani truly deserved it for her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Black.
She was honoured at the 71st National Film Awards 2025 for her performance in the 2023 film Mrs Chatterjee vs. Norway.
Recently, Rani's mother spoke about her daughter receiving the National Award while talking to photographers and media gathered at a Durga Puja pandal in Mumbai.
