India, Nov. 27 -- High octane drama ensued on Wednesday ahead of the Kankavali Municipal Council election, in Sindhudurg district, when Shiv Sena MLA Nilesh Rane barged into Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker Vijay Kenavadekar's house and summoned the local police to seize cash found on the premises.

Nilesh, who is facing his younger brother and BJP MLA Nitesh in the election, alleged that the amount - purportedly Rs.15 lakh -- was stashed away to distribute to voters in the election to be held on December 2.
