India, June 28 -- Rains lashed parts of Delhi on Saturday, bringing relief from the heat. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert, warning of heavy rainfall in several areas over the next two hours.

The alert covers areas like IGI Airport, Vasant Vihar, Vasant Kunj, Hauz Khas, Malviya Nagar, Kalkaji, Mehrauli, Tughlakabad, Chhattarpur, and nearby places, where heavy rain is expected.

On Saturday, Delhi registered a minimum temperature of 28.7degC, which is 0.8 degrees above the seasonal average, according to the IMD.

The department has also predicted thunderstorms accompanied by rain for both Saturday and Sunday, with the day's maximum temperature likely to hover around 37degC.
