Rain brings city to its knees
New Delhi, July 23 -- A short but intense rain spell lashed the city on Tuesday morning, bringing traffic to a halt with incidents of waterlogging on arterial roads of the national capital.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, vehicular movement was affected in areas such as Press Enclave Road and both carriageways of Anuvrat Marg near Qutub Minar metro station till noon.
According to IMD, base weather station Safdarjung recorded 8.8mm rainfall between 8.30am and 5.30pm, while Ridge in north Delhi recorded 22.4mm rainfall during the same period.
