Silchar, Sept. 26 -- Assam Police's Special Investigating Team (SIT), probing the death of singer Zubeen Garg, conducted raids at the residences of Northeast India Festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta and his manager Siddhartha Sharma on Thursday, officials said. Protesters demanded their arrests and the situation turned tense outside Sharma's apartment block. Meanwhile, chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said he was ready to transfer the case to the CBI if "people of Assam feel the SIT failed to investigate it properly". P15
