India, March 4 -- Leader of Opposition and senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has written to Virendra Kumar, Union minister of Social Justice and Empowerment over vacancies in the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) and the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) urging the government to fill the vacancies without delay.

Posting the letter on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday, Gandhi said, "Thousands of Dalits and backward people are fighting for justice across the country. The demand for caste census is echoing everywhere".
