New Delhi, April 30 -- The Public Works Department (PWD) on Tuesday appointed a team of officers to monitor and manage the waterlogging hotspots in the city during the upcoming monsoon season. The team for every area comprises one superintending engineer, one assistant engineer (AE) and a junior engineer (JE) along with the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) of the area. A total of 335 hotspots and seven critical points under PWD were identified earlier. The Delhi traffic police had provided details of 308 waterlogging points observed during 2023, out of which 214 points to PWD, and 194 waterlogging points observed during 2024, of which 121 were under PWD.
