India, March 26 -- India is actively pursuing an ambitious drive towards a sustainable energy future and is well-positioned to emerge as a global player in this space. The nation aims to add over 500 GW of renewable energy from non-fossil sources by FY30, over 40 percent electrification of mobility, and the installation of one crore solar rooftops.
The efforts are expected to yield two-pronged benefits - this will ensure that India meets its growing energy needs as the country treads on the path to becoming a developed nation and also address the challenges of climate change, which are gaining significance at the international level.
