India, May 8 -- Amid tension between India and Pakistan following the targeted strikes on terror camps and Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, panic gripped residents of Punjab's border district of Amritsar when they heard explosions and saw lights flashing in the sky around 1am on Thursday followed by a power shutdown. Debris of what appeared to be missiles was recovered from fields in Jethuwal, Makhan Windi and Pandher on the city's outskirts in the morning.

"There was panic all around. After the explosion, a part of the missile fell in a field at Jethuwal, while debris was found scattered over houses also. Villagers informed the police who arrived and took the debris away," said Parkash Singh, a resident of the village.
