Pune, March 21 -- The fire that engulfed a minibus carrying employees of a printing firm in Pune on Wednesday, in which four people were killed, was not an accident but a planned act of revenge by the vehicle's driver due to work-related grievances, including regular disputes with the staff he was ferrying, police said on Thursday.

"Primary probe revealed that the fire was not accidental. It was a premeditated act [by the driver],"deputy commissioner of police Vishal Gaikwad said. The accused Janardan Hambardikar jumped off the vehicle before the fire spread and suffered minor injuries. He was undergoing treatment at a hospital. P12
