India, Jan. 14 -- Pune The Customs Department at Pune International Airport has begun using body-worn cameras during passenger inspections to enhance transparency and reduce disputes. The cameras are mounted on the uniforms of Customs superintendents and inspectors and are used exclusively while checking international passengers arriving through the Red Channel, particularly those flagged as suspicious.
Officials said the initiative aims to ensure accountability in customs procedures and prevent confrontations between passengers and officers. Officials said the move was initiated last week.
