Mohali, July 3 -- Visitors to the District Administrative Complex in Sector 76, Mohali, were left stranded and inconvenienced for nearly five hours on Wednesday, as the entire premises were placed under unprecedented security lockdown during the court appearance of senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia in a disproportionate assets case.
The complex - which houses both the district courts and the deputy commissioner's (DC) office - resembled a fortress with barricades, restricted entry and a heavy police presence.
Barricades were set up around 10 am and remained in place until 3 pm.
