Imphal, Feb. 6 -- Violent protests erupted in Churachandpur district of Manipur on Thursday, with the apex body of the Kuki-Zo communities announcing a social boycott of three Kuki-Zo legislators who supported the formation of a new government on Wednesday. The Kuki Zo Council (KZC) issued a boycott notice against the three MLAs, including deputy chief minister Nemcha Kipgen, for going against the council's decision to not join a new government unless the demand for a separate administration was addressed. KZC later announced a total shutdown in Kuki-Zo areas.P10
