Raipur, Oct. 1 -- A 16-year-old pregnant girl allegedly stabbed her boyfriend to death after he refused to marry her in Raipur district of Chhattisgarh, police said on Tuesday, adding the accused has been detained.
The incident came to light on Monday when the body of the man, believed to be in his early 20s, was recovered from a lodge under Ganj police station limits.
According to the police, the staff at the lodge alerted the police after noticing suspicious activity in a room, following which a police team found the body bearing multiple stab injuries lying inside. An officer said as the police launched a probe, the girl, a resident of Bilaspur, reached Koni police station with her mother, confessed to the crime and surrendered.
