New Delhi, June 13 -- The Capital clocked a power demand of 8,423MW at 3.06pm on Thursday, data from the State Load Despatch Centre (SLDC) showed. The peak demand had touched 8,231 MW at 10.5pm on Wednesday, the first time this year when Delhi's peak demand had crossed 8,000 MW. Power minister Ashish Sood on Thursday convened a high-level meeting with senior officials from the power department and the city's three power distribution firms, directing them to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply. "In case of outages due to strong winds, rainfall, falling trees, response time for restoration must be minimised," Sood said.
