Chandigarh, March 29 -- It's good news for power consumers in Punjab. The state electricity regulator on Friday announced a new tariff order for 2025-26 with no hike in electricity charges for domestic and commercial consumers.

The new electricity tariff rates will be effective from April 1, 2025, said an order issued by the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC). The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) had initially projected a revenue deficit of Rs.5,090.89 crore for the financial year 2025-26 and had requested an increase in electricity rates.
