New Delhi, Feb. 28 -- The ministry of electronics and information technology (MeitY) on Thursday launched the "Aadhaar Good Governance" portal that allows private entities to seek permission from the government to use Aadhaar for authentication. The portal was created after the government amended the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Amendment Rules on January 31.
The portal, swik.meity.gov.in, lists 275 use cases at central and state levels for which MeitY has approved Aadhaar-based authentication since August 2020.
