Gurugram, Feb. 8 -- A police inspector involved in rescue operations died and 12 others were injured when a ride collapsed at the 39th Surajkund International Atmanirbhar Craft Festival in Faridabad on Saturday evening, officials said. The incident took place around 6.15pm, with at least 18 people partaking in the amusement ride, officials said. Police identified the victim as Jagdish Prasad, 59, who was posted in Palwal but was deputed for security at the fair. Officials said he was scheduled to superannuate in two months. Faridabad police commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta told HT the officer died while trying to rescue those trapped.P5
