Chandigarh, April 16 -- Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Punjab assembly Partap Singh Bajwa was questioned by police for six hours on Tuesday in connection with a case registered against him over his recent remarks on "50 bombs reaching the state".

Following his questioning at the Cyber Crime police station in Mohali district of Punjab, Bajwa told reporters, "A sustained interrogation took place. We gave replies strongly... I was questioned for six hours."

Bajwa has been booked under sections 197(1)(d) (false and misleading information that endangers the country's sovereignty and unity) and 353(2) (false statements intended to create enmity and hatred or ill will) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
