India, June 10 -- The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is set to begin the second phase of the Ganeshkhind Road widening - from Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to Sancheti Hospital - in a bid to ease traffic congestion on the busy corridor. The move comes after the successful completion of the first phase of the road widening from Pune University Chowk to RBI that was undertaken to facilitate construction of the Pune Metro line 3 double-decker flyover by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA).

While the stretch from Pune University Chowk to RBI was about one kilometre, that between RBI and Sancheti Hospital is about two kilometre long.
