India, Oct. 21 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid tribute to actor Govardhan Asrani as he remembered the veteran performer as a versatile artist who entertained audiences across generations. Asrani, who has played roles in more than 300 films, died in a hospital on Monday at the age of 84.
In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, "Deeply saddened by the passing of Shri Govardhan Asrani Ji. A gifted entertainer and a truly versatile artist, he entertained audiences across generations. He particularly added joy and laughter to countless lives through his unforgettable performances."
