Parts of Delhi go dark for 15 mins in mock drill
New Delhi, May 8 -- Entire Lutyens' Delhi along with isolated parts of the Capital, excluding hospitals, Rashtrapati Bhawan and the Prime Minister's residence, plunged into a 15-minute blackout on Wednesday evening as part of a mock drill organised to test emergency preparedness and response systems amid tensions with the neighbouring Pakistan.
Power went off at 8pm in pre-identified areas such as India Gate, Connaught Place, and Khan Market, including residential areas, markets, and government buildings. The blackout was implemented at most of the 50-odd locations where other mock drills were conducted earlier in the day, said a government official.
