Pakistan likely to pull out of Asia Cup hockey
Mumbai/Chandigarh, Aug. 13 -- The Pakistan men's hockey team is unlikely to travel to India to compete in the Asia Cup scheduled to begin in Rajgir, Bihar from August 29. A new team could be seen taking their place in the fixtures.
Hockey India president and former India captain, Dilip Tirkey said, "We have not yet received any official word from the Pakistan hockey federation on their pulling out from the tournament yet. And if at all they decide to back out, HI will invite a new team for the Asia Cup soon."
People in the know told HT from Islamabad: "The team is yet to get clearance to travel to India from the government."
