India, April 22 -- In the wake of the Pahalgam attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to cut short his state visit to Saudi Arabia and return to India, government sources said.

Given the terrorist attack in Kashmir, PM Modi skipped the official dinner hosted by Saudi Arabia. He will leave for India tonight and arrive early Wednesday morning, sources said. He was originally scheduled to return tomorrow night.

26 people, mostly civilians, were gunned down by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam. At least 20 people were injured.
