India, July 23 -- Ozzy Osbourne, the iconic frontman of Black Sabbath, died on Monday at the age of 76.

His family released a statement confirming his passing: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."

Ozzy Osbourne is survived by wife Sharon Osbourne and his six children.

From his first marriage to Thelma Riley, Ozzy had two biological children: Jessica Osbourne (born 1972) and Louis Osbourne (born 1975). He adopted Riley's son from a previous relationship, Elliot Kingsley (born 1966).
