Patna, March 22 -- The Bihar assembly was adjourned three times within minutes on Friday, with the Opposition trooping into the well each time, demanding the resignation of chief minister Nitish Kumar while accusing him of insulting the national anthem.
The row erupted during the inauguration of an international sports event in Patna on Thursday. When the announcement for the national anthem was made, the JD(U) chief abruptly left the dais and began exchanging pleasantries with the participants. Later, when the national anthem was played, he stood smiling and waving at bystanders. A video clip of the Bihar CM has gone viral on social media.
Even a petition was filed before a Bihar court on Friday seeking action against the CM.
