India, July 30 -- Two terrorists were eliminated in an ongoing gunfight with security forces near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, following an infiltration attempt, officials said on Wednesday.

The encounter began late Tuesday night in the Kalsian-Gulpur area of the Degwar sector, after troops of the Indian army intercepted a group of two to three terrorists attempting to infiltrate from across the border.

Later in the day, the Indian Army's 16 Corps shared the details of the developments, stating that two terrorists were eliminated during the ongoing anti-infiltration operation.
