India, Nov. 28 -- The Delhi high court on Thursday ruled that banks cannot levy late fees, interest, or penalties on customers who report fraudulent credit card transactions, especially when their complaints are still under investigation or unresolved. "The charging of late payment fees, interest, or any similar charges in cases where customers have filed complaints that remain unresolved will not be permissible," justice Prathiba M Singh said in her verdict. The ruling came on a petition filed by Sarwar Raza, who was pursued to repay a card transaction he never authorised. P19
