India, April 30 -- Pune is experiencing one of its hottest summers in recent memory, with average daytime temperatures surging significantly. According to data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city has already recorded at least 13 days with temperatures reaching or exceeding 40degC-surpassing the 12 such days logged in April 2019.

The IMD's latest forecast indicates no immediate relief from the intense heat, with high temperatures expected to persist for at least the next 48 hours.
