LUCKNOW, June 7 -- The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court has directed the state authorities to not take any coercive action or demolition against 27 madrasas in Uttar Pradesh's Shravasti district-the petitioners-till the next date of hearing in the case on July 3, 2025.

The court passed the interim order on June 5 taking note of the notices sent to the madrasas on May 1, 2025. The court said ".... It reflects that all notices are bearing one number and prima facie appears to have been issued without due application of mind".
