Imphal, May 13 -- Several political parties of Manipur on Monday held a meeting with governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and expressed reservations about delimitation, saying that it should not be held based on the 2001 Census data. Bhalla assured the representatives of 15 political parties that the memorandum submitted by them objecting to the ongoing delimitation process in the state will be forwarded to the Union government. During the meeting at the Imphal-based Raj Bhavan, the delegation led by former deputy chief minister Yumnam Joykumar, who is also the president of the Manipur unit of the National People's Party (NPP), submitted a memorandum and the parties demanded that the delimitation process be based on accurate census data.
