New Delhi, July 4 -- The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), in a statement on Thursday, announced the suspension of its project director in Palanpur, Gujarat, and punitive action against three private firms over poor construction of the six-lane Sanchore-Santalpur section of 130 km Amritsar-Jamnagar economic corridor. According to the statement, three private firms - CDS Infra Projects, M/s SA Infra, and M/s Upham - have been debarred from participating in the tendering process for ongoing and upcoming national highway projects, and an additional fine of Rs.2.8 crore has been imposed on the engineering procurement and construction (EPC) contractor CDS Infra Projects.
