Bengaluru, Aug. 6 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar announced a fresh infrastructure initiative on Tuesday for Bengaluru, revealing plans for a new 1.5-kilometre underground roadway at the infamous traffic ridden Hebbal area. Distinct from an earlier proposal for a much longer tunnel, this shorter stretch is specifically intended to alleviate traffic snarls at the busy junction.

Shivakumar made the announcement during his visit to the recently completed flyover loop at Hebbal.
