NEW DELHI, Aug. 29 -- 1988-batch IPS officer Shashi Bhushan Kumar (SBK) Singh, who briefly held additional charge as Delhi police commissioner for 21 days and was appointed the director general (prisons), directed jail superintendents and other senior officers to strictly follow the rules and jail manual. "In his first meeting, the DG met the officers and told them to read the rules and regulations in the jail manual and follow them properly; or it will be seen adversely," an officer aware of the matter said. The DG also said that inmates' health and security in the prison complex must be carefully checked upon.
