New Delhi, Feb. 12 -- Gross direct tax collection in 2024-25 (as on February 10) saw over 19% year-on-year (y-o-y) jump to Rs.21.88 lakh crore, while net collection in the period saw 14.7% increase at Rs.17.78 lakh crore on higher refunds of more than Rs.4.10 lakh crore, government data said.

Gross corporate tax (CT) collection in the current financial year (as on February 10) posted 15.3% annualised growth to Rs.10,08,207 crore, but the net rise saw only 6.14% y-o-y increase because of higher refunds.

Refunds to corporates jumped over 62.7% to Rs.2,29,731crore in FY25 as compared to Rs.1,41,132 crore in FY24 (same period on February 10, 2025), according to data released on Tuesday.
