New Delhi, Jan. 16 -- The Federation of Indian Pilots has formally objected to the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) summoning Captain Varun Anand, the nephew of late Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, who was in the cockpit of the Air India plane that crashed in Ahmedabad last year. The pilots' body has issued a legal notice to the AAIB, calling the move "wholly unwarranted" and alleging harassment. "The sole basis for calling Capt. Varun Anand appears to be his familial relationship with the deceased Pilot-in-Command, which is impermissible in law and renders the summoning arbitrary and unsustainable," it said. P12
