Bhubaneswar/New Delhi, Feb. 18 -- The death of a Nepali student at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Odisha triggered protests by students from the neighbouring country who were asked by the institution to leave the campus, prompting Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to dispatch two embassy officials to the institution on Monday.
Tension was palpable on the campus after a third-year BTech student from Nepal was found dead in her hostel room on Sunday. The 20-year-old computer science student allegedly died by suicide after being harassed by a male student, authorities said.
