New Delhi, Feb. 14 -- A 35-year-old New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) worker was mowed down by a speeding bus in front of India Gate on Kartavya Path on Wednesday morning.
According to police, the victim, identified as Kamal Kishore, was conducting a sanitation check in the area when he was killed. The accused was driving a private tourist bus with an Uttar Pradesh registration plate.
"The bus came from the ITO side and hit Kishore. The accused ran him over and his bike and he was crushed under the front tyre. The accused jumped out of the bus and fled on foot. There were no passengers in the bus. We received a call at 8 am about the accident," said a police officer.
