New Delhi, July 13 -- The waste-to-energy plant in Narela-Bawana has been issued the environmental clearance, Delhi mayor Raja Iqbal Singh said on Saturday at the review meeting on solid waste management. The meeting was also attended by chief minister Rekha Gupta.
The WtE plant can process 3,000 tonnes of waste per day (TPD).
The mayor also announced that a 100 TPD compressed bio-gas plant at Ghoga Dairy will be inaugurated on August 15. Additionally, bids for a new WtE plant at Ghazipur have also been invited. Biomining of legacy waste was also one of the issues discussed at the meeting.
