Imphal, April 27 -- Manipur Police has announced that it has recovered arms, ammunition, and explosives in separate cases, adding that it has arrested has five militants linked to various underground outfits for extortion and apprehended two others for possessing narcotics.
In a a statement released on Friday, Manipur Police said it recovered a cache of weapons, including several guns and two IEDs, in Bishnupur district.
Acting on intelligence inputs, police also carried out combing and cordon-and-search operations targeting extortion rackets in the conflict-hit state, leading to the arrest of five militants from various factions, the statement said.
