India, Sept. 7 -- The Nair Hospital in Mumbai Central received a bomb threat via e-mail on Saturday night. However, it turned out to be a hoax as a search carried out by Mumbai police's Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) found no suspicious objects, officials said.
According to the police, the threat was received at around 11 pm on the e-mail address of the hospital's dean. The hospital authorities informed the police and security was beefed up in the area immediately.
Security personnel conducted a thorough search of the premises but found no suspicious object/s or evidence of any explosive.
Police have registered a case and launched a manhunt for the sender of the e-mail.
