India, March 27 -- The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) will take measures to improve passenger convenience and safety at state transport (ST) stands in Pune's central areas, including Swargate, Wakdewadi, and Baramati, said newly appointed Pune divisional controller Arun Siya. After assuming charge on Tuesday, Siya inspected the Swargate and Wakdewadi ST stands to assess facilities and operational challenges.
His appointment follows the suspension of senior and junior depot officials at Swargate after a recent assault on a woman at the stand. Former division controller Pramod Nehul was also transferred in the wake of the incident.
