New Delhi, March 22 -- Union health minister JP Nadda on Friday suggested that all parliamentarians must undergo routine health checkups, citing concerns over rising obesity and lifestyle-related diseases.
Speaking during the Question Hour in the Lok Sabha, Nadda noted that a significant number of MPs appeared to be "overweight" and emphasised the importance of regular medical screenings.
The minister highlighted government initiatives under the Ayushman Arogya Mandir, aimed at screening individuals under the age of 30 to encourage healthier lifestyles.
