Months after teen killed by stalker, diary reveals sexual abuse by relative
NEW DELHI, Dec. 3 -- Five months after a Delhi University student was killed allegedly by her stalker, her mother has found a diary among her belongings in which the 18-year-old purportedly detailed how a relative had sexually harassed her for six years when she was a minor. Police have registered a case in Jahangirpuri based on the mother's complaint, officials said.
On June 1, the first-year student of DU's School of Open Learning was stabbed and strangled to death in Sanjay Van and her body was set ablaze allegedly by a fellow student for refusing his advances. The accused, a resident of Rani Bagh, had been harassing her for months and was arrested next day.
