Mohali, Dec. 25 -- A local court in Mohali has convicted Jagtar Singh and Kanwar Vikram Singh, both residents of Panchkula, in a counterfeit currency case dating back to September 2017. Sessions judge Atul Kasana held both accused guilty under Section 489-C of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for the possession of forged Rs.2,000 notes. The court will decide the quantum of sentence separately, after hearing the accused on punishment.

The case originated on September 16, 2017, when a police team from Lalru police station, led by SI Sukhminder Singh, was conducting patrolling and checking at ITI Chowk, Lalru.
