Gurugram, March 5 -- A man was allegedly assaulted by cow vigilantes near Kolgaon Bridge on Delhi-Mumbai expressway on Tuesday on suspicion of transporting beef, police said. Identified as Aslam Khan from Agon village, he was later taken into custody with a sack of suspected 100kg of cow meat and an unregistered motorcycle.

Nuh SP Vijay Pratap Singh said, "During initial questioning, Aslam allegedly admitted to slaughtering a cow." A case has been registered at the Ferozepur Jhirka police station. "An investigation is underway," Singh added. The seized meat is being tested, and Khan remains in the hospital under observation. HTC
