India, Sept. 21 -- In a shock twist, former Delhi captain Mithun Manhas has stormed into the pole position for the role of BCCI president after seasoned administrators and key decision makers held an elaborate meeting in New Delhi on Saturday. The meeting was held to narrow in on the candidates for all the cant spots in the Indian board ahead of the annual general meeting on September 28.

According to a report in the PTI, those in contention for the various spots have been summoned for the meeting, including Manhas and the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) president Raghuram Bhatt. However, it is the former who is the frontrunner to take over as the new BCCI president.
