Bhopal, June 13 -- A 30-year-old ward boy of Sanjay Gandhi Medical College was arrested on Thursday on charges of sexually harassing a 16-year-old girl, police officers aware of the matter said. The girl's father, however, alleged that his daughter was gang-raped by four men, including the ward boy, in Rewa district on June 8 and police registered a complaint of sexual harassment to "suppress" the matter. Police denied the allegations and said the family was not ready to register the complaint due to social stigma. Rewa superintendent of police Vivek Singh said the girl's family agreed to file a case only after police counselled them.
